ANOTHER MORONEY DISASTER

Back in November 2000, Matamata trainer Mike Moroney had an historic Melbourne Cup win, with the 3rd placegetter from his stable as well.
In TRUTH’s " Sports Stars " column of December 8, 2000 it were decreed that big Mike was gonna become the next member of the Matamata Bachelors' Assocation. A fictitious organisation, in honour of the increasing number of 24-7 horseyheads in Matamata whose equine obsessions had become too much for their wives.
Patron was Mike’s younger brother, horse purchaser Paul Moroney, who’d returned from their 1997 Melbourne Cup-meeting triumph with Second Coming in the VRC Derby to an empty house. Pregnant wife and 3 year-old daughter had bolted, leaving nothing but a non-molestation order !
The Mike Moroney prophesy was based on Pluto transiting the Sun in his 4th House of home and family matters. Identical had been used to forecast the Prince Charles-Diana split over a year beforehand. The Mike Moroney chart contained a serious Moon-Venus-Neptune affliction which guarantees all kinds of problems with marriage and partnerships……
On December 18, 2000, I received a call from a Hamilton taxi driver with “ some hot goss ” from a yesterday’s yarn with “ H “ in Matamata.
" Moroney’s missus has bolted, run off with another woman ! "

Something I was trying to explain to a pair of highly-respected members of Auckland’s Tongan community---lawyer Nalesoni Tupou and fearless activist Will Illolahia. Doesn’t matter that Illolahia was sought out for a personal " Thanks, brother " by Nelson Mandela on his first trip to NZ. As were Hone Harawira, John Minto and company for their great parts in the 1981 Springbok tour protests.
Humanitarianism means zilch to racing people, with ironically Paul Moroney last year boasting about " living the dream of international horse racing " a.k.a residence in France or Australia, with 2 children back in NZ including an autistic 17 year-old son…….
The Moroney stable, with a succession of Matamata-based co-trainers, had gained quite a reputation for methamphetamine scandals amongst its employees. 3 Moroney employees were also involved in a vicious attack on a rival trainer at the Matamata track last August.
With, as reported here, two holding down, one kicking the vicitim’s head in. Nobody called an ambulance, let alone the police, with the Matamata Racing Club’s major cover up including a staff member hosing the blood away, as the victim drove his truck home with blood pouring from head wounds.
Chad Ormsby, Mike Moroney’s junior, Matamata-based partner, knows all about it, as would his life partner, Mike’s daughter Aliesha. Ms Moroney works for the marketing arm of NZ Racing, and vainly trying to promote the decadent, waning industry, with a dreamed-up Facebook oddity called LOVE RACING.
LOVE RACING ? But not necessarily the humans ?
Ormsby has this week chucked in his job to go travelling, with Pam Gerard to become the latest in a long line of Moroney training partners. Perhaps for two years max, with Uranus whacking her Jupiter through 2018 and poor old Mike getting severely harassed over the next 3-4 years by Neptune-Sun, Uranus-Jupiter and Uranus-Moon/Venus complications.
A very stressful industry this horse racing. With " group one glory " always the pinnacle.....

He’s usually averaging 40% wins in jumps races annually and won 13 of his last 40 jumping rides in 2015.
This month’s he’s managed one place dividend from 8 hurdles/steeples rides. When he rode Thubiaan into second last Saturday, then opted to ride Lord of the Song in yesterday’s iconic Great Eastern Steeplechase at Oakbank---won by Thubiaan.

PLUTO VERSUS LANCE O’SULLIVAN

‘ Twas Cox Plate day 1997 ( October 25 ) and a non-racing investment day for myself.
Instead an intimate luncheon at the home of some Thai ladies in Mt Albert, including my special favourite Ga Tom Yum---chicken soup. Too yummy to sip from a spoon and I was showing a guy from Laos some Kiwiana, how to skull it from a long glass, complete with the toasting and clinking and “ cheers bro’ ! “
Plenty of hysterical laughter, then the hostess offered a reason for our mirth: " I put some ganja ( marijuana ) in it ! " –meaning we were incapable of doing much more than laugh and talk rubbish and be seduced for several hours. Cooked marijuana also makes nice biscuits and cakes, and even a primo lager beer created by a Kiwi who once gained a bronze medal in the world brewing championships.
Finally I was unstoned enough to drive and cruised home with an accomplice. Coincidentally the clock suggested " Cox Plate time " and I had to explain to my accomplice that the spelling of Cox was different to what she was thinking of. A horse race, the unofficial weight-for-age championship of the southern hemisphere and my head was on the block.
A favourite for the Cox was Kiwi horse Vialli, the mount of Lance O’Sullivan, and publicly given no chance of winning, with L O’Sullivan subject to an horrific Pluto-Sun negative for 1997, like all with an August 27-28 birthday. Something affecting rugby league star Matthew Ridge, and elaborated on during a session on SPORTSCAFE with Marc Ellis, dippy Lana and co a few months earlier.
Fellow guest John Kirwan showed commendable perception when reminding me that “ my mother told me that you told her that this was going to be a difficult year for Matthew Ridge.” As it was, with all kinds of injuries, form loss and battles with officials.

Racing Integrity Investigators endeavoured to speak with Haines to clarify particular points in his statement but he refused to assist and would not be interviewed.”
Technically the farm manager is then involved in assisting with the racehorses and O’Sullivan should have been charged with employing an untrustworthy employee. But the O’Sullivans are NZ racing royalty and train for some very influential people like the chief justice, Dame Sian Elias.
Enough said. It can’t be changed and nor can the appearance in next November’s Annual Prophesies:

More than 8 million Australians (almost one in three people) will be in the "crosshairs" of bowel cancer in just 10 years.
That's the finding of a disturbing new report released on Monday by leading social demographer Bernard Salt, who says by 2026, 4.6 million baby boomers and 4 million Gen Xers "will be subjected to a bowel cancer lottery" purely because of their age.
"Bowel cancer attacks the middle-aged with progressive lethality, with rates leaping tenfold between the ages of 50 and 79," he says.
Astrological research has determined that some people are never ever gonna get cancer no matter what they drink, smoke or snort. Most likely victims of the big C are gonna be born with destructive Pluto in the 6th House that governs health and diet matters.

Each to their own, but it’s fair to say the waning, decadent NZ racing industry has missed a major opportunity to encourage new blood by totally ignoring the system that’s not only proven there are racetrack certainties, but also certainties in jumping races and as far ahead as 37 months in advance.
I was at a debaucherous occasion in England many years ago when iconic actor-drunk Oliver Reed wondered aloud “ why the fuck should I waste my brain trying to work out if horse A can beat horse B on a C track over D distance carrying E kilograms compared to F kilograms last time when he got beat by G lengths ? ”
There is, of course, a time-honoured fallacy amongst embittered, hardened horseyheads that “ form ” study is the only way to go.
Don Murray Racing’s only investments this year have produced a 1st ( $6.0 win dividend ) and a 3rd. But I am so looking forward to the next 6 months, with the likelihood of 10 jumping race investments. Hurdles and steeplechases have an even better strike rate than the flat runners, even if we seldom get double figure win dividends.
Starting with a hurdles in the South Australian bush on April 6, including the big ‘chase at Warrnambool on May 5 and petering out with a certain jumps rider looking awesome on Great Northern Hurdles-Steeplechase day on September 5.
Each to their own, and there is a weird method of selecting a runner relative to the name of the race. i.e Black Caviar would have been the plunge if she’d ever raced in the Beluga Handicap and Pisshead would be the omen if he lined up in the Castlemaine XXXX Stakes.
There was a beauty in Toowoomba a few weeks ago. Ol’ Brown Eyes racing, but only finishing 3rd, in the Toowoomba Portable Toilets Plate……

Currently on a losing streak of 11, remembering that it could have been so different if Astrological advice had been heeded.

That's the clear inference from Warriors owner and chairman Eric Watson, who told Newstalk ZB's Tony Veitch the club was lacking deep NRL experience while chief executive Jim Doyle confirmed he had held discussions with Daley.
The 46-year-old Daley, the New South Wales coach, has already been linked to the Warriors this year as a sounding board to his friend Andrew McFadden, the embattled Warriors coach.

40 years ago next month a jockey was preparing for his only ride one day at an Auckland area track, when a mate entered with a warning. Word ( from the head of the drug squad, actually ) was there was going to be a major crackdown on cannabis users in the Takanini racing fraternity.

Jockey Glyn Schofield, media personality Richard Callander and Chris Waller's racing manager Liam Prior have all pleaded guilty over charges relating to the sale of a horse to Hong Kong.
Racing NSW stewards handed down their penalties on Thursday afternoon with both Callander and Prior receiving six-month disqualifications with Callander also receiving a $10,000 fine.
Schofield was fined a total of $20,000.
Following these revelations:
“ Richard Callander labelled it "racing's dirty little secret", the world of secret commissions and kickbacks in selling horses as he, Chris Waller's racing manager Liam Prior and jockey Glyn Schofield faced stewards on Monday about the sale of Lil Caesar in November 2014.
The difference between the invoice price of $200,000 on October 28 and the $140,000 the owners were told and paid in November 2014 was centre of the inquiry.
Callander told stewards he had been in racing his whole life and there are "backhands" and "commissions" paid in nearly every horse sale. "It happens every single day in racing in every sale," he said.”

With absolutely no inclination towards anything like the Astrological and of the thousands who’ve wisely sought enlightenment, I can only recall 2 or 3 tit pullers maximum.

I’ve always had the greatest admiration for the recently departed cricketing legend Martin Crowe.
Without Marty, there wouldn’t have been the Astrological chart responsible for probably the greatest-ever prediction in history. ( See enlightenment March 4 )
Same chart allowed my first discovery of the planetary constructions responsible for serious illnesses and diseases, like the cancer which claimed M Crowe.
